Modelling Asset

OPERATION
WORK

Denotes a unit of work within the production flow,
where actual processing/inspection occurs. It is not
mandatory to model this by linking it to a Resource.

FLOW
Process

A sequence of operations required to manufacture a
single product, which represents a connected form or
grouping of tasks (Operation).
It is also known as Routing. As the input product undergoes
the Flow, its form or characteristics change, which necessitates
a change in the Product Code. A single Flow must always
include one or more Operations.

RESOURCE RELATION
Operation-Equipment Usage Relationship

Indicates that a specific machine or resource is utilized in
an operation. The same resource may be used
across multiple processes.

STOCKER
Work-In-Process (WIP) Storage

While it uses the same icon as a Warehouse,
a Stocker is  represented as a separate resource model.
This is because a Warehouse stores inventory before or after
a process, whereas a Stocker serves as a resource for
storing production lots
(WIP, Work-In-Process) during the process.

SITE
Hub

Refers to a management unit for production, sales,
or logistics, and represents the unit where production
or logistics activities occur within the system being simulated.
It can be categorized as a Factory or a Distribution Site.

MATERIAL
Material Constraints

Material refers to all resources required to manufacture a product, such as raw materials, components, parts, catalysts, and other related inputs. The relationship between Products and Materials is defined through the BOM (Bill of Materials). While a Product is the production item that constitutes a LOT, Materials are the components consumed to manufacture that Product.Only materials that need to be reflected as constraints should be modeled.

ALTERNATE FLOW
ALTERNATE FLOW

Represents cases where two or more Flows exist that can produce
a single product. When an Alternate Flow is present, additional information such as production priority or sharing policy (ratio) between the Flows may be required for planning.

BOD(Bill Of Distribution)
Inter-Process Movement Path

Both inter-site movement and intra-site warehouse movement can be represented using a BOD (Bill of Distribution).
The start and destination points of a BOD must always be configured as a Warehouse. 1:n, m:1, and n:m relationships can also be expressed, but for multiple paths, product constraints or supply ratios per path must be defined separately.

PRODUCT
PRODUCT

Represents semi-finished or finished products
that are either input into or produced within a flow.

PRODUCT FLOW
PRODUCT FLOW

Represents the path through which a product moves within the production flow, connecting one operation to the next.
It can be omitted in representation if the sequence between operations within the flow is complex or highly varied.

MACHINE RESOURCE
Equipment, Facility, Machinery

A constraint resource required to perform a specific operation.
Not all resources within the factory need to be modeled.
Only resources that must be reflected as constraints during planning, or are otherwise significant, should be modeled.

WAREHOUSE
Inventory Storage

A resource used to store materials or products as
inventory before or after a flow. At the factory level,
every product and material must be assigned to
a designated warehouse for storage
(Warehouse Arrangement). Furthermore, the Warehouse
can reflect various inventory policies during planning.
(e.g.,Safety Stock Level, Replenishment Condition, MOQ)

SIMULTANEOUS RESOURCE
SIMULTANEOUS RESOURCE

An auxiliary resource additionally required for
the Machine used in a specific operation.
This may include equipment operators/manpower, JIGs/Fixtures,
or Carriers/Palettes needed for equipment input. Only resources intended to be reflected as constraints should be modeled.

PRODUCT CHANGE
PRODUCT CHANGE

Indicates when the Product Code changes without going through
a process. This designation is required when the supply source changes within the Supply Chain (e.g., from purchase to production,
or from production to sales), or when an item change occurs under specific conditions. In all other cases, product changes
should occur through a Flow.

CO-PRODUCT, BI-PRODUCT
CO-PRODUCT, BY-PRODUCT

Co-Products and By-products are used when one or more products are produced incidentally during a product production process (Flow). A Co-Product generally goes through the process of being produced and sold as a finished product. In contrast, a by-product is associated with non-production processes, such as being stored in a warehouse for sale or disposal through non-standard channels,or being fed back into the process as a raw material. Co-Products arise in cases such as BIN splitting in semiconductor manufacturing, or when crude oil is refined into LPG, gasoline, and diesel.

TRANSPORTER
Transportation Equipment

A Transporter is a resource that moves Lots
within the supply chain. It is applied when considering
the constraints and transit times of various logistics
resources, such as Trucks, AGVs, OHTs, Carts,
and Conveyors. Although a Transporter is represented
using the same symbol as a Machine, its Use Relation is
shown on the movement paths between processes or between warehouses, rather than on a specific operation.
